Surreal post alert. Warning to our German friends… some of this may get lost in translation.
No, the post is not a reference to a new signing for FCN but a tenuous link to the final friendly of the winter break as Glubb take on Dukla Prague (Wednesday 17th January).
So why the strange title of this post? Well, Dukla Prague gained a cult following in the UK after the band Half Man Half Biscuit released the song All I want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague away kit, the B-side of their 1986 single The Trumpton Riots (with the song also on the album Back Again in the DHSS). Wikipedia states, ‘Fans of the band have created considerable demand for replica Dukla Prague shirts and made the team a favourite among hipster football fans.’
Good luck to FCN in the final preparations for what we hope will be a promotion winning second half of the season.
Here’s the song referencing the famous Czech club…
